Sight-Seeing in London
London is a great place to visit. There are so many things to do sometimes the mind boggles. I’d like to give you my own personally recommendations of what I believe make a trip to the capital that little bit special.
I actually think that the old fashioned things to do in London stand up as well today as they ever have done. There are two aspects to London. There is the tourism side of London, and then there is every day London life. Personally I would rather stick to the tourism side of London. It might be a romantic notion, but I would rather imagine London as a place to go and stare at the Palace guards, than somewhere to view gritty city life.
I don’t think you can beat a trip to the Palace. Just to be able to look in from the outside and wander about the comings and goings of people is exciting. It’s also always a great trip to the tower of London to view the Crown Jewels. When I visit London I usually go and visit the London Dungeon too, because it offers a bit of history mixed with a bit of good old fashioned gory fun!
If you really want the proper London experience then you should go and see a proper London musical at one of the old theatres in the West End. The Wizard of Oz is opening in March 2011, but beware that these tickets will sell out quickly! Book your Wizard of Oz tickets if you want even a chance of getting in to see that one!
